google x FAU: deployable structures
The program of design was a semi enclosed shelter or structure in which Google’s employees could collect data on specific locations and regions while understanding the local needs of the population. This meant that the design had to be deployable, light, and most importantly reproducible in multiple locations of the world.
Creating the design was only a small portion of the task at hand, as the necessities of the clients had to be met, such as electrical outputs, cooling, security, etc. However, the most challenging aspect came in the form of understanding the needs of those who would be affected by the design itself, which led to the need to field research related to the user experience subject.
